Northeast Ohio - October 13, 2007

Rob Tate and I completed an

autumnal tour of Northeastern

Ohio on the 13th of this month.

We started our trip in Mansfield,

traveling northwest to Elyria.

Our goal was the noted town waterfall.

As you can see, we missed fall

by a couple of weeks...although

the weather was quite chilly the

day of our journey.

Bingo! The West Branch of

the Black River Falls!

This red squirrel is a full

25% to 50% larger than

the grey squirrels I'm

familiar with.

A view from afar...

It's as if the river dries

up to nothing a tiny

distance downstream.

On to the Cuyahoga Valley

National Park and

Peninsula, OH...

A few shots of the

tiny and curvy

Cuyahoga River...

Rob among the pumpkins

and ghosts...

From Peninsula, we drove to

the outskirts of Akron...to a little

town called Cuyahoga Falls, OH.

There, between the interstate and

the Sheraton Hotel, was another

stretch of the Cuyahoga River.

Rob looks out over the balcony.

(Below a couple have just

gotten married.)

Click on the arrow for a live

action video.

This beautiful part of the town

sits on the banks of the river.

Scenes from the other

side of the hotel...

I love this shot of the

interstate sitting on top of

the banks of the river.

A little farther upstream...

Amphitheater on the

banks of the river...

Back to the national park...

Can you find the

woodland creatures?

This is my favorite spot all day--

Brandywine Falls!

The falls can be seen

through the trees.

Okay, I'm not a videographer.

(Use your imagination!)

Watch the two leaves

"meet their doom."

The creek seems so calm

before the plunge.

A couple of views from

the other side...

This is the Inn at Brandywine

Creek, a bed and breakfast.

FINALLY! SOME FALL COLOR!

From Brandywine, we

discovered Bridal Veil Falls.

Rob likes the above the shot,

which is the actual lighting.

I like the one below

that shows the falls

with the night vision option

on my camera in use.

Our last stop was

Chagrin Falls, OH.

Ah...the falls!

A fooling of the eye...
another night vision shot.

One last photo...
